What the critics say:

"Impressive elegant, sexy & hedonistic, firm & racy with a deep mineral core and an oriental touch. Much better than 2003 and totally different. BIG cellar potential. Strong BUY recommendation."
James Suckling, Wine Spectator

Dom Pérignon is seen as the icon of the prestige Champagne category. Released only as a vintage, Dom Pérignon is left to age in cellars for a minimum of seven or eight years. This extended period of ageing prior to release is critical for harmonising the flavours and ensuring the wine's balance, elegance and sensuality.

Taste: Floral notes present themselves promptly on the nose alongside fresh candied fruit, spice and liquorice root but it's palate where this truly proves itself as a vintage, as richer and more intense flavours come together as one to create the true taste of Dom Perignon.

Tech: 2003’s weather played a major part in creating this stunning Dom Perignon 2004 Champagne. Surviving a brutally dry winter, frosty spring and a scorching hot summer, all grapes that survived the topsy-turvy conditions were at a perfectly ripened stage for of harvesting. Chef de cave Richard Geoffrey chose to start picking grapes earlier than any Champagne House had done since 1822. It was a huge risk. It was also one that paid off brilliantly.

What:  The wine is a blend of 53% Pinot Noir and 47% Chardonnay. Yields in 2004, a vintage with excellent growing conditions, were an average 10-11,000kg per hectare, compared to 3-4000kg/ha in 2003.
